What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Honey Bunches of Oats

Do you like cereal?  I do.  Wanna know a secret?  I would eat cereal for dinner most nights, but the "boys" think they need a "real" dinner.  Sometimes we have a late lunch and I get my way and we have cereal for dinner.  De-lish!  One of my very favorite cereals is Post Honey Bunches of Oats.  I like a small bowl for breakfast too.  The Breadman likes a big old Jethro Bodine bowl full.

Even though I feel like we are having a treat when we do have cereal for dinner, it is actually a pretty healthy meal.  Post Honey Bunches of Oats has 10 grams of Whole Grains.  It has 6 grams of sugar which is less than comparable cereals such as Honey Nut Cheerios which has 9 grams of sugar.  It provides 9 essential vitamins and minerals.  It's also heart healthy since it has 0 grams of Trans Fat, 0 grams of saturated fat and 0mg of Cholesterol per serving.

Visit the  Post Facebook Page for more great info about Post Honey Bunches of Oats.

I have FREE Post Honey Bunches of Oats coupons to send to several of my devoted readers.  :)

Leave a comment on this post or on the monkeybox Facebook page to enter.  This isn't advertising for my new Facebook page - it's just easier for some people to leave a comment on Facebook than on Blogger.  I will write down all the names and throw them in my favorite Confetti Texasware bowl and draw out a name old school.  Leave a comment before midnight CT Friday, May 18th and I will post the winners on Monday. Don't forget to leave a blog link, email address or someway to get in touch with you.  Good luck!

****I am a member of Purex Insiders and I receive offers to review products through them.  Post has provided me with a free sample of their Honey Bunches of Oats - Honey Roasted so that I could review it.  My opinions are my own.  My opinion is that this cereal is yummy!  :D
