What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Officer! Arrest That Woman!

Today I stole from Target.  I robbed them blind.  Really, I did!

Oh, I put stuff in a cart and I went through the line and I gave them money for it.  But, still.  I robbed them!

I bought stole:

4 Glitter Balls      $4.99 each
5 packages of Chalk      $2.99 each
4 packages of Sidewalk Chalk      $2.99 each
10 Disney Puzzle Tins      $2.99 each
4 Disney Bubbles      $2.99 each
1 Sand Dump Truck      $9.99 each
1 Sand Wagon      $2.99 each
1 Placemat      $1.99 each
3 4 Pks. of Glasses      $1.99 each
3 Themo Plastic Glasses      $1.99 each
2 Giant Metal Beverage Tubs      $19.99 each
2 Bocce Sets      $19.99 each
1 Slip N Slide      $12.99
But, after 90% off, I paid...............$19.42 for it ALL!

Less than the price of one of those awesome tubs.

The cops ought to be here any minute.

They have me on the Security Cameras.

They'll know it was me.

I just hope they don't put me in the same cell as Lindsey.

*All the toys will go in the Christmas Donation Box.

  1. I may have to hit a Target tomorrow and see what sale is going on in our neck of the woods. I know it was 30% last time I was in. Totally makes my day when I see that magic 90% off- especially at Xmas.

  6. Made a run to Target only to be disappointed in our store once again. They were JUST marking summer clearance at 50%. I did find 3 packs of napkins and 1 pkg of what appeared to be sandwich or cookie cutters at 90%, big whoop. I asked the ladies marking the stuff why our store was so far behind and they said they are just going by the schedule. :(
