I am having a slight case of baby fever lately. I want one! (But, that will NOT be happening, just wishin').
When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Our weather was not as severe as yours, but we did have a freeze and lost a lot of flowers. I am worried about my hydrangeas because they already had buds on them and they look kind of yucky. We may not have as many flowers on bushes this year.
ReplyDeleteYour cousin is a cutie.

What a sweet bald head. When I hold a baby I always have to smell their head.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what will happen to our bluebonnet(state flower) crop. They needed to die and go to seed, but I bet we won't have many next yr., due to the freeze last weekend. Sigh.
