Hope you have a terrific Halloween. Make it a safe one!
What is a monkeybox?
When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Love your Halloween displays! Fall is so much fun - can't wait to see what you have "cooked up" for Thanksgiving..;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection! I only decorated my porch! I'm a slack mother!
ReplyDeleteI'd like a Ding Dong, please. And can I have one for my little boy, too? He just Looooves Ding Dongs..I swear! (even though he's only 6 weeks old) Forget full-size candy bars, I'd rather have a Hostess cake anyday! You know my weakness. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, after seeing only two posts I am adding you to my blog list.
ReplyDeleteI do remember those little plastic characters! I was thinking they came from gum machines but I really can't recall!
I will be back to read more....I've spent way too long on the computer this morning!
