What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

80 Days

PEOPLE!  Do you realize that Halloween is in 25 days and Thanksgiving is 53 days away and Christmas is 80 days away and my house is still piled up with Barn Sale leftovers and the makings of Christmas crafts for the Holiday Bazaar and I want to decorate for Halloween, then Thanksgiving and of course Christmas but I am still exhausted from the Barn Sale and the sorting of things in the garage and the taking of things to and from the booth and back home again after the rain came at the Barn Sale where I piled it all up in front to my Halloween bins and my Christmas bins and there is no where to put all of the things in my living room that are out now to make room for the holiday decorations that I want to put out?

*BREATHE*

Sorry - just looked at the calendar and had a bit of a mental breakdown thinking of all of the things that I need to do, have to do and want to do.  No one cares if I decorate or not BUT I DO.  I love the holidays.  And, here they come.......ready or NOT!

(not)

****I know I promised a Monday Sale - but the rainy weekend did not match up with my plans to photograph items.  I did put the feedsack pendants on Etsy if anyone is interested.  That is in the post below.

  2. I get freaked out this time of year..every year. I have Halloween up.. Crafting like a mad woman and the kids rooms are both full of inventory at this point. (one perk about them being away at college) 3 shows, Etsy and sharing a holiday spot in a local mall. I just keep chipping away each day. You will get it done..just look at it day by day.
