What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

For Sale: Feedsack Pendants

I just set up a RESERVED listing for my readers only for the Feedsack Pendants.  Here is the Etsy Listing - Pendants if you are interested.  I have about two hundred pendants and each one is different than the next based on how I cut and use the feedsack fabric.  I can't take a photo of all 200, so if you will just say what colors you prefer I will pick out one for you.

I have small circles, large circles and small rectangles in a variety of different colors and patterns.  Each pendant comes with a silver ball bearing chain.  These are $12.00 with free shipping.

The larger rectangles are listed in a separate listing:  Etsy Large Pendants.  Again, that photo is just a sampling of what I have - request a color and I will get it for you.  If I don't have it, I will contact you through Etsy.  These are $15.00 with free shipping.
That photo in the bottom left shows a few more samplings of what I have - I have a LOT of colors available.

I also have the vintage game piece necklaces, but I didn't list any yet.  If you are interested, let me know in the comments and I can work up a listing on those too.   The red dominoes are Bakelite and the yellow Dominoes are Catalin.  There are wooden checkers and clay checkers.  Also different Dominoes  - Empire State Building and Dragon and Fluer de Le.

I feel kind of weird selling things on here - but everyone does it and YOU asked for it, so here goes.....:)

*If you don't have an Etsy account, I can bill you through PayPal or sell to you directly.  Email me at monkeybox at juno dot com if you have any questions!

Thank you lovely people!

  1. Don't feel weird about selling things on your blog! Lots of people do, in fact I get a lot of crochet requests from my craft blog. I do like the necklaces, I don't think that they are something I would wear because I don't wear a lot of jewelry but they are very pretty and I think they'll be popular.
