What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

You're Toast!

Have you heard of Wayfair? CSNStores has changed their name to  Wayfair and they have graciously offered to send me a product to review.  Wayfair has everything under the sun from Decorative Plates to Kitchen Rugs and even Baby Cribs.  Since I am not in the market for plates, rugs or a Baby Crib (sniff*sniff), I have decided to review the Black & Decker Four Slice Toaster.

Our current toaster has four slots, but only half of them work half of the time.  That just doesn't cut it when it comes time to make breakfast in a hurry!  We are big fans of toast in all varieties at our house. (It doesn't hurt having The Breadman bringing home bread, bagels and English muffins all the time.) When I was 18 months old, my Mom found me in the kitchen sitting on the counter making toast.  I even had the Cinnamon-sugar out waiting to sprinkle it on top!  Apparently, I have liked toast a very long time! It will be nice to have a nice new toaster to use from from Wayfair.  Thanks, Wayfair!
