What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Winner.............

Thanks to everyone that left a comment to win the My Memory Suites Scrapbooking Software.

I took all the names and wrote them on a slip of paper. Because I am Old School like that.

Then I put them in my Confetti Mixing bowl and shook them up.  Because everything is better in a Confetti Mixing Bowl.

Then I reached in and drew out a name.  Because the Randmon Number Generator is faster, but not as much fun to do.

Then I unfolded the slip and saw that it said,

YSPrincess!

Hurray for Leanne!  Drop me an email, Leanne, because the one I sent you got bumped back to me.

I am sorry to everyone else that entered.

If I was Santa, I would give one to everyone!

(That was just an easy way to sneak in a photo of my Santa Blow mold that I found on Friday.  I spotted him from the road, squealed in on two tires and dashed to the table to grab him.  The ladies having the sale thought I was NUTS because they had been opened since 6:00 am and it was now 2:30 pm and not ONE SINGLE PERSON had even looked at him.    Whew.  Thank goodness.  Now he is all mine!  He is about three feet tall and cost three buckaroos!)

  1. Yay! I have to tell you that I was slowly scrolling line by line through the announcement and when I read that you put the slips of paper into a confetti bowl I thought, "Oh, I it has to be me...I have a confetti bowl". Then the a few lines down was my name! Thank you so much Shara! This is going to make such a difference for the kids' school year!!!!!!
