This weekend was another great weekend for sales. It is November 6th and 7th - there shouldn't even be sales, but there have been plenty and it has been warm and sunshiny. So, bring 'em on, I say!
I won't do a play by play, but I will say that when I spotted this vintage Las Vegas Souvenir tablecloth in a box, my heart did a pitter-pat. And, when I asked how much and heard, "25¢," my heart went PITTER PAT - PITTER PAT. And, when I discovered fine more tablecloths in the box (less exciting but still - a quarter, you gotta be crazy not to buy them!), my heart was going BOOM BOOM BOOM. Look at all the goodies I bought! Lots of STUFF! Nearly all bound for Etsy or ebay. I set this up for a nice photo, but with the time change, the sun is lower and all sorts of new shadows crept into my shot. If you click on it, you can see it better.
Four Gurley Pilgrim candles. And for only 10¢ each! These have been high on my Wishlist this year. They are a bit dark from age and what I suspect might be nicotine. But, for 10¢ each, that's okay by me.

And, THE find of the day - a vintage kitchen cupboard. I see these every once in awhile, but always for at least $100.00. Today, this one was only $25.00 so it came home with me. After the Holidays, I will show you what I did to it (after I actually do it). Let's just say, a coat of white paint, red knobs and vintage wallpaper backing are certainly not out of the question!
And, an item worthy of it's own post later in the week - a metric ton of vintage cupcake and cake decorating picks, toppers, etc. for every single holiday EVER! Such fun! First person to guess how much I paid for this entire container, wins a tulle apron that I bought today. Go ahead, GUESS!

I am insanely jealous of your cupboard, I have wanted one for years, but I have NEVER found one.
ReplyDeleteHave fun fixing it up, I can't wait to see the finished result!
Isn't it fun - just when you give up hope on 'any more saling weekends', to get a 'charmed' one? From the blogs I have read, this seems to have been a Universal theme for 11-6&7-09! (maybe we should play those numbers in the lottery!!)
ReplyDeleteMaybe 25 cents for the whole jar?? Lucky ducky!!
ReplyDeleteHow much are you going to sell the blue and red table cloth on the cabinet door for? Those are SOOOOO my colors!!
The cupboard is great!!!! What a lucky find!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
ReplyDeleteI too LOVE the cupboard! Can't wait to see it after you're done!
You do the junking crowd proud...particularly those of us who stayed in bed!
ReplyDeleteI am loving each and every find, very, very cool! And that cupboard!! What a haul!
ReplyDeleteNice cupboard and love the candles. I'll be glad when I can hit the garage sales again. It's either been rainy or too busy here in Louisiana.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great haul, Shara! The cabinet has me green with envy! My weekend, no so great. I'll be blogging again (maybe tomorrow) anyway.
ReplyDeleteI am terrible at guessing games. I will say 102!
That cupboard is awesome, and I can totally see it painted white with the red knobs! I see you've got a nice collection of the cake stuff going too! My guess is 152! Did I win?
ReplyDeleteI counted 258. Right, huh?

Just joining in the songs of praise for that cupboard and your junking ability. There are exactly 109 objects in that jar, by the way.
ReplyDeleteAre we guessing the price or the number of objects?
ReplyDeleteI say $0.75 and 98 items.
I LOVE that cupboard. And it will look wonderful in red and white. Hmmm...it will match my kitchen well, too! Can't wait to see it when it's finished!
ReplyDeleteI love little bits & bobs like cupcake picks, what a fun find (they must have saved all of them over a lifetime). I'm going to guess you paid 50 cents for everything?
ReplyDeleteLove the cupboard, the Ladies/Mens signs, and the candles (and is the bird pitcher hiding?). Please show us your cupboard when you're done refinishing; I think it will look smashing in red and white!
ReplyDeleteAnd, since 25 was the lucky number for the cupboard, I'll guess 25 is the lucky number (in cents) for the glass jar with the cake accessories included!
I must of been half asleep when I posted my guess! I see I wasn't the only one, though. Since we haven't heard from you, I'm guessing no one has answered correctly.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess again and NOT tell you how many are in there. Did you really count them? You must tell.
I'm gonna say you they set you back $1.50, higher than most guesses but still a bargain at this price!
Jeez! I wish I could find things like this....I am dying to see what you do to this! I love red, white and wallpaper! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually made the santa toilet set cover around 1973. I had one too and our dog destroyed it so it now gone. Seeing yours brought back memories! My oldest son who is 32 said he remembered it too. Thanks for the memories.
