Barn Sale: The Goods

I was pretty busy during the Barn Sale so I never really got a good look around at any of the booths except the four in my immediate line of vision.  Going into Lara's booth was fun because I recognized many of her items from her blog.  It was kind of like seeing pictures online of a museum and then going there and seeing them in person.

On the first day during set up, the event organizer, Amy stopped by my booth and handed me a couple items she had found along her junking route that she thought I might like.  How nice is that?

A vintage Easter chick candy container and a Chocolate Covered Cherry box!
I love them both - I haven't added a Cherry box to my collection in a long time.

To the left of my booth was Laurie.  Her booth is Junque Rethunk.  She spotted a packet of letter cards in my stash that said JUNQUE, so she bought them from me for $2.00.  A few minutes later I was nosing around in her booth and spotted a couple boxes of school chalk for $1.00 a box.  So, I handed her $2.00 back and we were even.
It makes the best *clink* when it rattles in the box.
Her son was loving on some old Transformer McDonald toys that I had, so I gave him one of each.  And, even though she didn't have to - she gave me a green gingham chicken scratch apron for my collection.

On the last load of the wet cold rainy trip, Laurie also gave me this great old crate that she had made into a shelf.  She saw that I used old crates in my booth so she thought I might like it.  Plus, her truck was SO FULL that she wasn't entirely sure that she could even get her son in the truck to go home.  But, she was right, I do love it!  See that word QUEEN?  Awesome!
Lara had put these chalkware babies on her blog quite some time ago and I was smitten with them at first site.  Every time she shows an updated photo of her booth, I play eye spy until I spot those babies.  So, here we are at the Barn Sale and what appears in a wee little school chair thisclose to my booth but those babies!  Ack.  And they sat there all day Friday and all day Saturday.  And as we started to pack up  I knew I had to buy those babies.  But, Lara being the super sweet person she is, thrust them into my hands.  They are just seriously adorable.

Okay, I swear this love fest between me and Lara is coming to an end - she raves about me and makes me blush, I rave about her and make her blush.  And I am sure all of YOU guys are sick of us.  But, before I stop gushing, I have one more thing to show you.  And, it's a killer.

On the sidebar over there --------> I have my Thrifting Wishlist.  That is a list of my DREAM items I want to find.  Not even that I need any of them.  I just want to FIND them and OWN them for a minute.  One of those items is a child sized grocery cart.  Not a toy one.  Not a plastic one.  Not a cutesy one.  But an actual metal grocery cart from a grocery store meant for a child to use.  A couple weeks ago, Lara emailed me that she had found a child sized grocery store.  At one of my thrifts!  For $5.00!  Good golly!

She used it as a display for the sale and it was completely adorable.  After the sale - she GAVE IT TO ME!!!!

Can you believe that it is even PINK?  Someone must have painted it.  You can see the orange handle peeking out underneath the pink.  Good golly, it is cute. Now, do I need at child sized grocery store at my ripe old age?  Uh, no.  Do I FREAKING ADORE it?  Uh, yes.  I have a million ideas for it, but haven't settled on one yet.   I gave her that basket of old baseballs I had in my booth and a big tub of Tinker Toys for her babies.  But, I KNOW I got the best end of this deal!  Thank you so much Lara!

So, that is the story of the Barn Sale, start to finish and how I brought home a bunch of treasures without spending a dime.  End of story!  Thanks everyone!

Barn Sale: The Whole Enchilada

Okay, so here we go.  The Barn Sale is over.  But, I'll start at the beginning.  Thursday morning I loaded up all the tent tent weights, tent sides, card table, display tables, shelving and display items into the car.  I filled up the wooden crates with merchandise and filled up every last empty spot bigger than 6" with something.  Anything - a stuffed dog crammed in this hole, a quilt in that spot, etc.  NO EMPTY SPOTS!  I even made The Bean hold a picnic basket full of merchandise on the way out.  'Cause I am a good mother, that's why.  We unloaded, set up the tent, set up the tables, covered them with my prized tablecloths and put all my display items up the way I had designed it in the side yard.  Went back home and loaded the car up to the headliner, stuffed and tucked in every single thing I could think of and in every conceivable spot and made The Bean hold TWO bags of crap on his lap as well as the cooler between his feet.  On that trip out, the low tire pressure light went on (just because I had five hundred pounds of junk in the car....) so we had to stop at three gas stations until we found a working air machine (AIR costs money?  Really??? It's AIR!) and each time, he had to unload the front seat into the parking lot reload it into the car, then unload it into the parking lot and reload it back into his lap.  Mother of the Year.

I got everything all set up the way I wanted it and then despite the fact that I had ordered side walls for the canopy, I decided to leave it wide open all night because I had my tables stuck out farther than the sides.  It was a nice calm evening and there was security on sight, so I thought it would be okay.  All night long I had visions of my canopy blowing over the Oklahoma line.  I got up earlier than I planned and went to see if anything was off.  But, it was all perfect - not one thing blown or moved.  The gates opened at 10:00 with what I thought were a few early Shopper passes given out to shop at 9:00.  But, by about 8:45, we were getting flooded with customers.  The very first guy in the booth started asking for a better price on some jewelry and I thought I was going to cry.  Not over the jewelry (It was vintage stuff, not what I made) but because I thought if the first person asked for a better price, then everyone was going to do that.  But, I think only about five people bargained with me and they were all fair offers.  Everyone else grabbed up what they wanted and happily paid for it. No problem.  Whew.  We were open until 7:00 and had no set up or tear down that day, so it was a fun day filled with shoppers and visiting with the surrounding vendors.  It's nice because even though we all had "junk" everyone's junk was different that the others.  So, we weren't really in direct competition.  But then again, we kind of were.

Lara, of course, was in the booth next to mine.  She has amazing photos of her booth and of mine on her blog.  I am ashamed to say that I barely go to even look at her booth let alone take photos of it!  She also has all too nice things to say about me.  (I paid her to say most of it.)  Back to the story, I had said on the blog that I *hoped* we would ed up in the shade.  Well, I forgot that the lovely Amy that ran the whole event was monitoring my blog so she put me in the shade!  Woo hoo! Thank you Amy!  Lara and I had also requested to be side by side so we could help each other and watch for you know what breaks.  Which is all sort of funny because even though we have emailed back and forth for a few years now, we have only actually met face to face one time for about five minutes.  So, there we were side by side for hours and days  - what if we hated each other.  HA!  I love her!  We got along so well.  She is funny and nice and sweet and generous.  I'll get to that generous part in a bit.  We had fun visiting and selling.  We shared a look when a fellow thrift shop nemesis of ours came cackling through the crowd.  As soon as we heard him, we both whipped our heads toward each other.  Lara would also grab something from her booth and say, "Why can't I sell this?" and the next person through would seen to buy it as if by magic.  It was nice to have fun and deal junk.  Her helpful husband, sweet Mother and adorable TWIN almost three year olds came by for an afternoon visit.  Her little son, Jack, took an immediate liking to The Bean for no apparent reason which made him happy.  Her daughter, Emme, took an immediate liking to my chair.  I liked that too.  Those are great kids and I hope to get to spend some more time with them some day.

Friday evening we closed up and headed out at about 7:15 and had to be back and ready for business at 8:00.  I didn't sleep that well but I was ready to get up and go when the alarm went off at 5:30.  When I stepped outside to pick up the newspaper, it was a bit breezy.  Visions of my canopy blowing away went through mind once again.  When we got there, the paper items like flash cards and sheet music hadn't moved, but the big heavy vintage BOWLING TROPHIES had blown off the table.  What's up with THAT?  Anyway, I got everything straightened out and the people started rolling in.  Rumor had it that there was rain coming in on Saturday, but the weatherman assured me that it wouldn't be until after 6:00.  We were to close up at 4:00, so I felt safe.  Both Lara and Laurie (from my other side) were watching their different weather apps and giving estimates on when the rain would come.  We weren't supposed to start closing up until 4:00 via the contract, but we did start organizing the things behind the tables and moving a few thing sup under the canopy just in case a wee bit of a tiny sprinkle came along.  What we did not think was going to happen was the heaviest wettest downpour I have ever seen in my life.  Buckets of water pouring down.  We had been told not to pull our cars around to load in the rain, but once it started, everyone else did, so I went to get the car.  I had made the very (un)wise decision to park behind where we were set up, except there was a five rowed barbed wire fence separating me from my car.  So, I had to walk across the yard, the length of the Community Center, the width of the Community Center, the length of the center and then across the field to get to the car.  All the while, the rain was picking up more and more.  Now, I'm no runner.  I can walk pretty fast with my short legs.  But, with the rain in the field with the walnuts rolling and the cowpies steaming, I had to walk at a normal gait or I would have slipped. So, I was really drenched by the time I even got to the car.

When I was on my way back around the building, driving across the yard, a little girl ran right in front of my car!  I slammed on the brakes and slid.  She ran right into the building and she was fine, but GOD I was scared.  Drenched and panicked and SCARED.  Her Dad was real helpful and yelled HEY WATCH IT!  How about a HEY GOOD DRIVING THANKS FOR NOT KILLING MY DAUGHTER!?

We got the most delicate things like the jewelry and paper items into the car.  The Breadman to came and helped with the metal things and tables to help save us a trip.  I had planned SO hard to pack up in an organized manner and to get it all home in TWO trips.  It took me TWO trips to get it out there, plus I SOLD things, so I could have done it.  Instead, it took three wet drippy messy trips.  In between trips we stopped at Sonic and the carhop was so taken aback by the sheer sight of me that he never spoke or even bothered to close his mouth as he stood looking at me all dripping wet. I don't think it had even rained much there.  So, I am sure I looked like a total and complete lunatic.  Like halfway through my shower I just HAD to jump out and go get some onion rings.

Today we unloaded the last of the things out of the car.  Everything was sopping wet, so we set up the canopy, our chairs and all the merchandise up and down the driveway and sidewalk.  It looked like Sanford and Son were having a sidewalk sale.  Frankly, I'm surprised no one stopped.  If they would have, I would have sold them something!

Things I learned:  Things need to be spread out where they can be seen.  I had the Scrabble tile words in a smaller bowl with just the tags showing and I sold a few.  Then I spread them out onto a big dough bowl where you could read the Scrabble tiles and people started buying them.  So, I did the same thing with everything else I could find.

I had put out some of those peepholes I bought last summer and put a sign up that said, "These make great telescopes."  Nearly everyone tried it and more often than not, they bought one.  They all chuckled to themselves about it.

The first thing most everyone saw and touched were the old metal cookie cutters.  "My Grandma had that one" they would say.  Words I love to hear when people come into my booth.

Really, I can't think of one bad thing to say about the whole weekend except for that @#*%$# rain.  That sucked.

So, I have rambled on long enough, but I still have more to say.  But, I will do that another day.  (I'm a poet and didn't know it...) :D

I sold a lot of things, but I sell small things, so I still have a LOT left. So, next Monday I will be having a Farm Fresh Blog Sale with many of the items I still have.  So, if you saw something in any of the photos that you are interested in, let me know and I will see if I still have it.  I do have the yellow canisters, horse ribbons and F is for FISH Flash Card that were specifically asked about in comments.  I'll be gathering things and taking pictures in preparation for that.  I will also have some of my feedsack necklaces, Junk Queen corsages and Birthday corsages available.

Ok, that is ALL.  Good night!

(Tomorrow I'll blog about all the fun stuff I brought home and how I didn't even spend a dime on any of it!)

The Barn Sale is Done! (Did you just hear thunder?)

Day Two started off busy at 8:00.  We stayed busy right up until, oh how I do not want to tell you all this...the skies opened up and it POURED rain.  I mean seriously poured.  Oh my god.  I had started moving things to up under my canopy in preparation of a sprinkle or two and had started boxing up some stuff.  BUT!  It rained like I had never seen it rain.  Everything was drenched.  I thought a lot got ruined, but I don't really think anything is actually ruined.  I went for my paper items first and then the jewelry and it is fine.  made one wet drippy load home in the car and came back for the rest in the second trip.

I begged The Breadman to give me fifteen minutes of his precious before Razorback Football time and he was kind enough to give me twenty minutes.  *cough*  He is not on my NICE LIST right now.  He took all the tables, crates, metal stuff and things that wouldn't get damaged in the rain home and threw them in the side yard until tomorrow.  He hates rain.  Hates being wet and hats being cold.  He was wet and cold when he got home, so he put his clothes in the dryer and then headed off to the game.  IN THE RAIN.  To watch football.  Wearing a TRASH BAG.  Because it is RAINING.  In the RAIN.

*cough*

Lara and her sweet husband, Justin, (who is apparently NOT a season football ticket holding rabid die hard Razorback fan because he helped Lara a load two vehicles and make two trips back and forth) and the nice lady Laurie on my other side, along with me and the Bean finished cleaning up our areas and we HELPED each other get out canopy's down and packed up.  We did all three in less time than it would have taken to do one.  I hate photos of myself, but I just hate it that we didn't take a photo of all of us - we looked like drowned rats.  (Can I tell you guys a secret?  I had to wring out my underwear to put them in the laundry. )  TMI?

Despite all that - I had a great day.  I had FUN.  I met a lot of great people and yes, I will do it again.

I'll have stories tomorrow and some photos.  Maybe.  I cannot find my camera.  I'm hoping it just got thrown into a random tub or bag and I didn't actually lose it.

Thanks for all you wonderful comments!  I feel so loved by all you guys.  Lara is SO impressed by all you wonderful people that read my blog.   Thanks!

I never did look around or do any shopping.  But, I came home with gifts from my booth bunkmates and the sweet gal that organized the whole Farm Fresh Market.  How's that for nice?  Photos of the goods next too.

Day #1 of the Barn Sale is DONE!

  One more to go, then pack it all up and drag it back home.  Her's my booth as it was at 11:00 this morning.  I changed it up a bit later in the day and I have some more things to take out tomorrow.  You can't sell it if it is in your garage!

 There's Lara back there - see her?  It has been SO nice to have a friend beside me.  Oh, sure we have only actually met face to face for like five minutes before, but we are a lot a like and I had a good time being with her.
I sold quite a few pieces of my jewelry which THRILLED me.
I'm all Sally Field over here, "You like me, you really like me!"

 Really need to sell that giant chalkboard!

I'll be back with the whole story on Sunday. I'll try to get some pictures of the other booths so - I think there are about 50 set up.  It has taken every fiber of my being not to shop.  :)  I did do a trade for a couple of old boxes of chalk from the booth on the other side of mine.  Might have to find a little somethin-somethin tomorrow.  :)  'Cause, you know, I need more junk.

Also, don't forget to sign up for m giveaway in the previous post.  I shopped for the winner BEFORE we opened today - so you won't be getting leftovers, I promise.

Also, The Duggars Sale will be on Tuesday night, so I can finally blog about it!  I'll watch it and see if we made it into the show.  I kind of hope we didn't!

I have to get up at 5:00.  Like 5:00 AM.  I am SO not a morning person!  g'Nite!

Something for YOU

To thank everyone for all the nice comments and for the lovely emails that have arrived in my inbox lately - I think it is time for a Farm Fresh Vintage Market GIVEWAY!

After the Sale is over and I am well rested, I will pick a winner and they will receive a VIRTUAL BARN SALE BOX. Yes, it will be just like you came to the Barn Sale yourself and shopped in my booth.  Feedsack necklace?  Yes!  Ephemera Pack?  Okay!  Vintage kitsch? You got it!  I can't show photos because I really don't know exactly what I will send you.  But, if you ask anyone that has ever received a box from me, I think they will all agree that I PACK it FULL.

Leave a comment to be in the drawing.  No hoops to jump through.  Just make sure that I know you or can contact you through your comment somehow.  I get so many "no reply" comments and I can't respond to those comments.

What are you waiting for?????  DO IT NOW!  I'll pick a winner Tuesday and post it Wednesday.

FOUR DAYS

*When you read that title - please scream it with lots of panic and fear in your voice.  Thank you.

Four more days to get ready for the Farm Fresh Vintage Market.  I've continued to refer to it as the "Barn Sale", but it has been renamed the Farm Fresh Vintage Market for months.

This morning I gathered up the remaining items to be priced.  This afternoon I am going to go strip the booth of anything I want to take with me to the sale.  Mostly the jewelry that I made, some vintage Razorback items, the vintage Fisher Price Toys and a few other things.  Not much since I want this to me mostly new merchandise for the BS and to be able take the remaining items to the booth later in the Fall.

Tomorrow I will price the rest of the items.  Put them all in one spot in the garage.  Sort into departments and rebag into shopping bags.  I don't do well carrying those big tubs and I can cram a lot more in the car if the packaging is flexible.

Tuesday I will take the tent down and repack it.  Organize the display items I am taking.  Contemplate packing a flask of whiskey in the car for stress.  Or chocolate.  Chocolate melts.  Booze it is.

Wednesday I will pack the car with the tables and display items.  Freeze PB&J's and round up all our food and drinks.  No booze.  Or chocolate.  Well, maybe chocolate.

Thursday is set up day.  I HOPE to get it all there in two loads - one with set up things, one with merchandise.  Set it up.  Take photos.  Go home.

Friday - SALE BEGINS!  I will take one last load with us of the jewelry and other small things I can put into two tote bags, our food and chairs.  Sale begins at 10:00 am and ends at 7:00 am.

We can't start to close up until after 7:00 and we have to be back and ready for opening at 8:00 am the next morning.  I think I will just sleep under one of the tables.  Being set up at 8:00 requires a wake up time of 5:30 and this homeschooling doesn't ever have to be anywhere early kind of gal is SO NOT A MORNING PERSON.  Coffee, coffee, coffee is the usual answer, but a long walk to bathrooms and leaving the booth unattended is a bit of a problem.

Saturday - SALE CONTINUES.  Begins at 8:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm.

Tear down, take a load of set up stuff home.  Go back for a load of merchandise.

Go home.  Eat a frozen pizza.  If I have enough energy I will cook it.  :)

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This is the first sort of thing like this that I have ever done and I want to do it right.  I have spent a lot of time making up displays and figuring out interesting ways to display items.  I have set up lots of flea market booths before and that is hard work.  But, you have days to do it and you don't have to build the building first before you can set up.

I want to thank everyone that has given me all the encouragement to do this.  You guys are wonderful.  I'll be scarce this week since I am so tied up with everything else right now.  I have touched and handles SO MUCH STUFF the past few weeks that you would THINK I am junked out.  But, I am just tired of MY junk.  I really could use some good yard sales to lift my spirits.  Maybe I'll get a minute to look around the Barn Sale for a treasure or two.  "Look honey!  I made three dollars and BOUGHT ALL THIS!"

Lots of pictures and a progress report to follow.  You guys go junking for me, okay?

Well, not FOR me, but on my behalf.

I'll leave you with a few photos from the 400,000+ motorcycle rally that was in town this weekend.
I have never been on a motorcycle.  I have no desire to be on a motorcycle.  Yet, I go to the motorcycle rally every year.  I stick out like a sore thumb in my PINK.

There are several different locations where the rally is in town, so you can ride the train to and fro.  We we go "to".  This was the ninth trip that The Bean and I have made on the train.  As we boarded, The Breadman announced, "My first train ride!"  Whaaaat?  How can that be?  Mom and The Bean have done a lot together over the years, I suppose.

Rows upon rows of motorcycles everywhere on every street and in every parking lot.  I do not know how on EARTH you would ever find your own motorcycle.  Heck, I can't even find my own car at Wal-Mart most weeks.

Yep, you guess it.  More motorcycles.

A CAR!  Yes, it's a tiny car.  But still!  A car!

Ah, that's more like it.  More motorcycles.

Traffic.  Motorcycles.  Loud.  Noise.  Vroom.  Vroom.

Loved this motorcycle ice cream truck.

Hubba Hubba.

The line for the train to go "fro."  It was loooooong.  And hot.
The entire train ride takes 5.56 minutes.  I timed it.

I wonder, exactly where does one order giant flags with photos of corndogs on them?

If I do well at the Barn Sale.......
Mama's going to have a sweet new ride for next year.

I kid.  But really HOT PINK with POLKA DOTS?
Come on!

Okay, now I'm leaving!
Bye!

Reunited......

You might remember last week when I found this box of pool balls.
The #4 was missing, but I just so happened to have a few extra balls, so I was able to scrounge up an extra #4 to round out the set.

But, The Queen noticed that the #4 I added was bigger than the others and I hadn't even noticed that when I put it in the box.  But, it really didn't matter since I have no intentions of using them to play pool - I am going to dump them in an old wire basket and call it decor!

Today I found myself back at the very same thrift where I bought the balls last week.  This is a huge store  - it used to be a Furniture Store and it is packed with merchandise and packed with people.  Today it was packed with kids and I found myself being all cranky old lady with my "What the hell are all these kids doing here in the middle of the week?" thoughts.  I wanted to look in the toys and those KIDS were in my way!
Bah humbug!

Anyway, I walked down the aisle with outdoorsy stuff - sporting goods, lawn care, household care, etc. and there sitting in a plastic tub peeking out at me was BALL #4!
Woohoo!

The replacement #4 really was bigger than the original #4.

When I checked out I told the lady that I has bought the rest of the set last week and even asked her if she had seen a #4 ball rolling around anywhere.  She told me that the lady that runs the floor might have seen it, but she was gone for the day.  When I relayed that story back to her she said, "Well, I believe you because that sounds like what I would have said!"  and stuck the ball in my bag No Charge.  Thanks lady!
Reunited.

I know it's silly.  But, I'm sort of proud of myself for finding that one sad little ball in that big old thrift store.  Old balls don't usually do that much for me.
BA DUM DUM!
(Sorry, couldn't resist a little bit of sauciness).

Barn Sale Set Up and The Weekend in Junk

Today we set up my canopy for the Barn Sale.  I have had a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach because we hadn't even put the top on it yet, let alone figured out how to assemble it.  So, getting it all set up with the sidewalls and leg weights really made me feel good.  Now instead of dread, I'm excited!

The very first thing I ordered when I decided to do this sale was that banner.  Heck, I didn't even have a canopy, but I had a banner!  I love it.  It's 4' x 2.5' so it's quite big.  We attached it to the top rungs of the canopy with rope.  I had found a set of nice curtain rods at Goodwill that I attached to the top and bottom through the grommets.  The weight of the bottom drapery rod keeps the banner weighted so I didn't have to tie down the bottom.  The finials on the rods are hot pink crystal globes which make the banner really *pop.  I've been looking at a lot of posts on Pinterest about selling at craft fairs and swap meets.  The one idea that stuck in my head and made the most sense, was to elevate the tables up on plastic bed risers.  Genius!  It brings the table up to counter top height and it makes it so much easier to display, shop and package.  I got three sets of bed risers in the dorm department at Walmart for $5.88 a set.  Well worth it.

I decided to pull out my prettiest and brightest floral tablecloths to cover up the ugly tables.  I'm using crates and some small shelves to add height to the tables.  I have a lot of neat old displays and things that I am going to add, but I am really just getting started setting it all up.  It's in the side yard so I can access it and work on different set ups.

The neighbor kids have been over to ask
1) When is the garage sale
2) Did we camp in the tent last night
3) Can we play in the pink house?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday was a lovely morning with nice cool temperatures.  I set out on a junkin' journey all by myself.  I thought I was going to hit pay dirt, but I didn't find much at all.  I followed so many signs that lead nowhere.  What's up with that?  One ad looked promising, and I tried to find the house, but never saw a sign or anything.  I looked for it three different times while I was out.  I think I did find the house in the end, but there was only a card table on the porch.  As I was headed home, I saw a lady putting out signs for what I assume was that sale - but it was 2:00 in the afternoon by that time.  Who starts a sale at 2:00 in the afternoon?
I found two sales and stopped at the Super Cheap Thrift.
I got this set of Golden Encyclopedias at the first sale I stopped at - all for $3.00.
I don't know if I will sell them as a set or framed some of the images.
Probably try to sell the set first.
Okay, so don't hate me but I have a confession.
I hate Disney stuff.
But this fat little Cinderella Mouse cracked me up.
Mostly because he reminded me of this little girl on America's Funnies Videos the other night.
This pottery lamb lamp was so cute.  I loved it.  I even found a shade for it at the thrift.  But, when I got it home, the bulb shorted out when I plugged it in, so I just cut off the cord.  I need to get a new lamp kit for it, but I have never done that before.  (I have installed new lights, a hood vent and ceiling fans, so I think I can do it.)  It's just darn cute.
I got this tablecloth at the thrift.  I was excited - my first Thanksgiving tablecloth.
It wasn't until I looked at these photos did I realize that, uh, hello, those aren't Pilgrims.
It was made in West Germany, so I still like it.  But, I really thought it was a Thanksgiving tablecloth.
I also got this giant set of shelves at the first sale.  The Breadman was at the Razorback game, so when he got home as his punishment I made him he helped me go pick them up.  They weigh a ton!  Normally I wouldn't be feeling the black, but I kind of like it on these shelves.  I painted the sides with Chalkboard Paint so I can write the Booth # or specials on the sides.  They will go to the booth eventually to replace those cubbies that I have in there right now.  Oh, did I mention they cost TWO DOLLARS?
Probably won'' be much junkin' going on for me in the nest few weeks what with preparations for the Barn Sale, the big motorcycle rally this week and the actual Barn Sale itself.  But, I bet I manage to eek in a littel bit.  It's kind of an illness.
