What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

2010 Wishlist Item #1 FOUND

My #1 item on my 2010 Thrifting Wishlist is a vintage Croquet Set.  I've never played Croquet, but I seem to be obsessed with finding a set.  But, I no longer have to look as my wish has been fulfilled by CSN Stores!   The gracious people at CSN Stores have offered me a Croquet Set to review. With more than 200 stores, CSN carries everything from cookware to sofas.
You know I love vintage, but sometimes brand spanking new is better!  No missing parts, no rickety rack...Brand New!  Thank you to CSN for the chance to try out a brand new Croquet Set!  I'll let you know how it works out.

Now, for that Redman Basket.......;o)

  2. It's a great game that everyone can play. :) Remember Extreme Croquet I told you about? My husband ended up in the coconut bra and grass skirt. I'm starting to think he liked it. Hmm . . .
