Today, in the mail, I received my AAPR Membership Card.
WTF?
I might not be a Spring Chicken, but I did post my photo yesterday and I am not close to being AARP age yet. ("Not that there's anything wrong with that," in the words of Jerry Seinfeld).
Man, my day just went in the toilet.
Not sure if it will make you feel better or not, but I started getting them too, a few years ago when I turned 40. I still get stuff from them. Seniors do get some good discounts--might be worth holding on to Ü!
ReplyDeleteLuckily DH is 5 yrs my elder, so I will always feel like 'the young chick' in our home!!! He's been getting AARP stuff for a couple of years now and I have a good time busting on him!
ReplyDeleteYou can't join until age 50, but I think they start their mailings about 4 or 5 years before that momentous date!
ReplyDeleteI keep throwing mine away.
I'm an AARP member and proud of it! LOL! I started getting things a few years ago and it was quite a jolt to the system to see this stuff in the mailbox! Yikes! Now that I'm actually 50 I've decided that the numbers will officially cease to increase! There will be NO 51 this year! I will remain 50 for awhile! : )
ReplyDeleteDon't fret...they're just trying to get you used to the idea a little at a time so when you finally DO turn 50 (eons from now) it won't come as quite a shock!
