What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Ba-BAM!

Do you know the Swiffer commercial where they lady says, "Ba-BAM!" really loudly?  It always catches me off guard and startles me which, in turn, annoys me.

But yesterday, after I set up this vignette:

I stepped back and said what immediately came to mind.

BA-BAM!

That's what I'm talking about.

Blingy, shiny, glittery, fabulousness.

If I do say so myself.

:)

Let's flood the internet and social media with pictures of our fabulous Christmas decorating and maybe that will bring out JT's love for vintage Christmas and he will commission us to decorate his house!!

Hi Shara, I am supposed to be finishing my homework and my kids are running a muck so I just thought I would check your blog and chill out for a bit. I love that Swiffer commercial. I walk around my house saying Ba-Bam all the time now. .... Traci from California
