What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Freebie for YOU (and me too)

I swear this is not going to be an advertising blog - but there are a lot of opportunities right now for Bloggers to score freebies.  So, I will be sharing a few of them (like the Meyer Glitter and the Family Taco Night) with you as I find them.

If you go to Gilt Groupe and sign up for an account, they will give you a $20.00 FREE credit. You can apply that credit towards your shipping too, which is awesome! Now, they have items from one THOUSAND dollar Hello Kitty watches (for real!) to less expensive items.   Things chance day to day and week to week.  they have gourmet food, purses, toys, artwork, towels and everything in between.

I was able to use my code to get both of these plush from "Where the Wild Thing Are".  Each one had an original retail of $25.00, but they were only $7.00 on Gilt.  After shipping was applied and the code was deducted, I had a balance of $1.95 to pay.  Each of of these plushies are 17" tall and look adorable.  I will be able to add these to my Toys for Tots donations.

Once you sign up, they will send you an email welcoming you to Gilt Group.  In the email on the upper right corner, it should say Account Credit: $20.00.  If you don't get it - let me know at monkeybox @ juno . com and I will remove this post.  It is working for most people.  Good luck!

So, head on over and get your $20.00 credit.  I'm not getting paid by Gilt, although, if you do place an order, I will get a credit on my account.  But, once you sign up and place an order, you can pass on your link and get more credit's too.

I really will be back with journeys and junk soon.  And, a post about 50 FREE Shutterfly Christmas cards.  Money is tight this year and I was going to cut out Christmas Cards.  But, thanks to this promotion, I will be sending out the nicest cards I have ever sent for FREE.  And, you can too, if you want info.  I will post it soon.  Bloggers unite and get all the stuff we can while the getting is good!

  2. The only offer I see is invite friends and get $25, but they have to have an order shipped first.

Did not see a $20 free credit either.
