Did I Tell You It Snowed?

It snowed last week. It snowed on Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day. We had to move our Christmas festivities until the weekend and later into the next week. Arkansas just isn't prepared for snow and ice. It really wrecks havoc on the roads. But, it sure is pretty when we do get it. I snuck across the street to my neighbors yard to take pictures of these pretty red berries. Well, I thought I snuck until I realized I left big deep footprints from my door to her yard. You can't be sneaky in the snow!
The driveway melted pretty fast with some hard work by The Breadman and The Bean. I liked the white house with the white roof and white yard.
I love my old glider in the snow. I wouldn't want to sit on it right then, but it is still pretty!
When the sun hit the backyard it was completely blinding! I love snow with no footprints in it. It is so perfect.
The backyard through the window. The sun was glinting off the snow so much that I couldn't even see what I was taking a picture of until I was finished.
It was really pretty. But, then it melted away. But, then it snowed again. And that has nearly almost all melted away. But, now it is snowing again. *Sigh*.
I think it is going to be a long Winter.

  2. We're the same in NC. It snows so rarely. We become paralyzed by our lack of snow-clearing instruments. So you might as well sit by the fire and enjoy it from the window...unless you are a teenage boy with no sense of cold. Then you go out and play!

Your house is beautiful and the snow makes that the perfect Christmas shot. I'd save it for next year's Christmas card!

  5. We get it often enough in NE Oklahoma that the city is somewhat experienced in handling it. But the drivers seem to regard ice or snow as a reason to go even faster and there are always accidents. We've still got snow on the ground, it's been over a week. We probably won't be above freezing at all this week so we'll still be dealing with it for a while, but the streets are mostly clear now. But I'm not looking forward to it melting, Muddy Season is not fun.

  6. You crack me up!! I guess us NE'ers are like that with sunshine and warm weather though... 8-) ENJOY IT! Reading your blog about snow IS FUN though - kind of like experiencing something with a child for the first time - puts the excitement back into it! If you it all melts away and you haven't had enough, you're welcome to our guest room!!

I would take the snow over the freezing temps. We are suppose to have a high of 8 tomorrow. That is something to look forward to! That and the gas bills that will follow all this cold. :o)
Crazy weather-still better than the ice storms, we had one two years ago just like the one you had, it sure does a number on the landscape. Stay warm!

  8. Great photos! I see a CROSS in the lower-center of your pristine "no-footprints" photo...How'd you manage that?
The snow fell like GLITTER here! It is so gorgeous!
