Slim Pickin's

Friday morning I went to a few yard sales all by myself. Just like a growed up! I think I went to six and left completely empty handed at three. Nothing struck my fancy at any of them. I am having a bit of buyers remorse for not buying an enamel topped table for $12.00. I didn't think I had anywhere to put it until I figured out what to do with it, so I passed on it. Last night I stepped into the garage and remembered I had cleaned it out and I would have had lots of room for that table. Oh, well. Here's my slim pickin's for the week including a few things from thrifts too.

I bought the set of child's silverware for 25¢ at the first sale yesterday. I just love little silver baby forks and spoons. I have a few framed in a shadow box and have a few ideas for these too. The basket was 25¢ at the Salvation Army later in the day along with three Magic Eye books for The Bean. The sad little homemade Ugly Doll was rescued from a free box. He was so pathetic, I had to rescue him. The CD's of Barry Manilow and The Philharmonic Orchestra performs the Hits of George Michael are from the Super Cheap Thrift on Thursday. Pretty diverse music, eh? I had sworn on off B.M after some of his recent political views (not his actual views, but his behavior in supporting those views), but I figure if I only have to pay 25¢ for it, it isn't padding his pocketbook too much. I've always like Barry Manilow, much to the chagrin of many of my family members. I'm looking forward to listening to the Philharmonic Orchestra - I love George Michael.

The last sale I hit yesterday netted this brand new Pampered Chef Cookie Press with all the disks. It was priced $5.00, but that was crossed out to $4.00. When I sent to pay the lady said, "I'm sorry the box is dirty - how about $3.00?" Okay! She'd had the box on top of her fridge and it had a greasy dusty surface on it. Now it matches everything in my kitchen! I have a vintage cookie press that I enjoy using, but this one looks even better. It appears to hold a roll of premade cookie dough with is even better than making dough sometimes. It makes cookies in 16 different shapes and for pretty much every holiday. It should be fun to try out.

This morning I woke up with big ideas to go to a couple fundraiser sales. But, I have some stomach and digestive isues that pop up from time to time and I've been having some issues the past few days. Today just seemed like a better day to stay home, stay cool and take care of myself. But look out next weekend!

Woohoo! Cookies and Tea at your house next weekend? I have so much appreciation for anyone that can figure out how to use one of those contraptions. I tried once and ended up squirting cookie dough out the wrong end all over the floor. LOL.

    Enjoy!
