Froogle Friday - On-line Shopping

Sarah is hosting a Frugal Friday post. I am pretty much frugal in every aspect, but here's one concerning shopping on-line.

Whenever I am shopping for an item I go to Froogle and type in what I am looking for, say: Kitchen Aid Mixer. It then shows me every KitchenAid Mixer available on-line. You can sort it by price, rating, etc. Once I find the top five or so best priced or best reviewed (Oh,who am I kidding, it's always the best priced!), I start searching for a code. I go to Dealhunting or Fishing For Deals and start looking for any codes that might make my deal sweeter. Free shipping or $xx.xx off $xx.xx purchase codes are my favorites. Also, when you shop at Amazon most items that are directly through Amazon ship free if your purchase totals more than $25.00. If my order is less than $25.00, I look through the website and find a small baking pan, a kitchen utensil or a book to fill out my order - that way you actually get something for the money and not just paying for shipping only.

I also use DealHunting and Fishing For Deals to just look for deals on random things. I found fabulous MP3 Players for all of my family members for Christmas at one one of those websites through Office Depot. I got three MP3 players on sale plus I had a code for next day FREE delivery AND I got a FREE tabletop mini fridge because my purchase was over $50.00. Cha-ching.

I am a huge fan of on-line shopping. I am bored to tears at real actual stores, but I could shop on-line all the live long day.

Here's another frugal idea: I bought the cat this vintage looking suitcase cat bed for $20.00. Why, oh why didn't I just buy a stupid vintage suitcase at a yard sale? Oh sure, it's cute, but I honestly could have had the same effect (and the ginormous cat butt might have fit better) for a dollar.

  1. Hey... don't be making fun of 'ginormous butts'!!! I know how that kitty feels!

  2. I love the fishing for deals sites as well...since you turned me on to it last year. I haven't bought much online since Christmas other than a few things from ETSY or EBAY, but I plan to do what you are doing for the next holiday season. Saves lots of hassle!! I do like to go into the stores to see all the decorations but the mad dash everywhere to get that elusive perfect present is enough to drive me to drink..LOL
