The Block Street Party

This Sunday I will be selling at the Block Street Block Party.  Block Street is the street that connects the world famous Dickson Street with the Square.  They close down the whole street all day for a big Block Party.  There will be 80 vendors, food trucks and vendors, live music and apparently, mass quantities of beer in the Beer Gardens.  One of the ladies that has a booth at my Flea Market has sold there the last few years with a friend of hers.  This year, they raised the price which made it prohibitive for them to do alone.  So, there are five of us that are going in together as one group.  I will be taking my feedsack pendants, game piece jewelry, pocket telescopes, Upcycled Book Cover clipboards, Ball jar cups with the vintage labels, colored paper straws, Razorback Prize ribbons and a few other things.  Everything I am taking will fit on a card table with a shelf on it plus the space under the table.  The other ladies have a mix of crocheted items, girl's clothes, painted furniture and papercrafts, so none of us will be competing with each other.  We all have booths at the Flea Market, so we are promoting that as well.
It's been in the 40's and raining for the past two day so I was forced to do my set up in the living room.

Thanks to those great old spinner racks I picked up at that estate sale, some cleverly designed business cards (if I do say so myself) and some very precisely measured and found cellophane sleeves - all my things have one cohesive look and I think it makes me look like I actually know what I am doing.  Which I don't, of course.  But, if you go looking like a pro, you will be seen as a pro.  I hope!
I did package up most of the necklaces, but I left out all of these so people can feel them and even try them on.  I have struggled with a way to package my feedsack pendants so that they look professional and would be good for gifts but also so people can feel them and touch them. So, some in packages, some without.  This is all good for the Block Street Party and the Barn Sale, but the loose ones will have to be re-packaged before I can put them in the booth.  They might go one Etsy - that would make the most sense.  Or MAYBE I will sell them all and be DONE.  Yea, that's the ticket.  :D

I'm taking my sweet beloved shopping cart that Lara gifted me.
I'll put in all my upcycled Book Cover clipboards in it for display.  I use mine for my shopping list, so it seemed like a natural fit.  Until some little hooligan decides to push it down the hill - Wheeeeeee!  Not!
I made a whole bunch of new ones with old milk caps and Bingo markers on the clips.  I like them a lot.  So much that I kept the one on the bottom left.

The vintage label Ball Jar mugs are going too.
I put them on the bottom for the set up, but will put them on top if it's not windy that day.

I put all the vintage game piece things in the berry baskets.  Painted the fronts with chalkboard paint so I can write what is in them.  I have little clip-on chalkboards that I write the price on then clip them on the baskets.

I think the end result will look good and be cohesive.  Maybe I'll sell one thing, maybe I'll sell a hundred things.  I will be glad to get one more sale under my belt so I can get ready for the Barn Sale.

When I took this photo I saw the toadstools that I made out of Jello molds up on that shelf.  I totally forgot about them!  Must work into display.......:)

How's that???

I'll be back with photos of the actual event.  *Fingers crossed!

Hope the sun is shining at your house!
