How Bazaar, How Bazaar

I've been finishing up my preparations for the Holiday Bazaar this week.  Because I know people, I got a sweet early access into the venue on Friday night for early set up.  By "know people" I mean these are the other Mom's that I have known since The Bean was in Kindergarten and by "venue" I mean the school cafeteria.  But, had I said, "One of the Mom's said I could go to the cafeteria on Friday" you wouldn't have been SO very impressed with my mad skillz.  So, there.

The actual Bazaar is only four hours, so the amount of stuff I am taking is really kind of ridiculous.  But, then again, this is very, very small town America and the whole town REVOLVES around the High School.  This Bazaar is part of Project Graduation which ensures a safe all night long party for the graduates.  (This is The Bean's graduating class and all of his friends, so I wanted to be a part of it for nothing more than that.  Plus, if I sell a few things or drive some business towards the booth - all the better.  Plus, I get to spend the afternoon with Lara, so what could be better?)  Anyway, I think there will be a good crowd because everyone knows about the Fundraiser and tries to support the school.

The school provides one table for a 10x10 spot, so I am taking another table, a rack, some shelving, the wee shopping cart and some big baskets.  That's just for the display - then there is the STUFF.

Trial set up in the driveway on Sunday where it was really warm, the ladybugs were biting me and I got a bit of a sunburn on my right arm.  Fast forward to Tuesday and it was 17 degrees.

The sun was hitting hard, so these photos aren't great.  Mostly to refresh my memory when it comes time to set up.  Except I have decided to flip the entire set up and I am taking a different table just for the jewelry.

I decided not to use the Christmas print tablecloths because they are all so busy looking.  I picked out all my red/white, green/white and gold/white checked tablecloths instead.

All that crap in the baskets will be displayed at the Bazaar.  I do hope I sell that giant blowmold.

Who would have ever thought I would sell so many stupid Scrabble words?  But, I do, so I will keep making them.  These are all Christmas themed or Razorback/Cardinal themed.

I'm taking lots of things I have made.  Not sure if any of it will sell since I like different things.  Lots of shiny, glittery, gaudy kitschy things.  Hopefully someone will like something.  I'd hate to think I suffered all those hot glue gun burns form nothing.

I'll be back after the Bazaar, after I take the rest to the booth and get it all Christmas-ed up and after I take ONE day and go on a HUGE thrifting bent.  Mama needs some Thrift Therapy!

*Anyone besides Eddie remember "How Bizarre, How Bizarre?"

  6. I remember that song! It always reminds me of my freshman year in college because that's when it came out and we used to sing it all the time. :D

I love that white cubby shelf thingy on your table--that is so perfect for adding height!

Hope you and Lara sell a bundle! Wish I could come shop!

  8. OMG Shara I am going to look like country-come-to-town next to you! Seriously. Your stuff looks FANTASTIC. And I have a feeling you will be one of the few people selling vintage stuff there. Can't wait to spend four hours jawing about vintage goodies with you! Well, I mean, I hope SOME of that is spent talking to customers...
