My Favorite Time of the Year

My Dad is doing great - back to himself and feeling good.  It was a long week!

Almost overnight, like magic, the trees have turned gold, red and orange.

We spent a day walking along the shore of the lake looking at rocks and throwing sticks.  The lake is really low.  You know out on the lake, they have those orange buoys that float to let you know BEWARE:  Deep Water or TREE under water?  Things like that?

Well, this one is a long, long way from shore.  The lake is low, I tell ya.

See the hints of color in the background?  We went back today and there was even more color.

This is a manmade lake, so there are things that were under the lake for fifty years.  Like this old tiure under this giant rock.  Landlocked now.
Someday I think The Bean will have a cabin by the lake.  He'll just walk the shore with a stick for poking at things.  He'll gather up pretty and unusual rocks and pile them outside his cabin.  Inside his cabin will be stacks and stacks of books.

The Breadman is on vacation this week so we have lots of activities planned like going to another lake, going to a Mill (by another lake!), looking at leaves, a couple of picnics and a day of burning leaves and brush in the backyard.  I'll be working that day as I am allergic to smoke.  But, I am happy they are willing to do it.

I'll be back with the usual October-y posts like The Pumpkin Patch and pretty fall leaves.

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!

*PS. I FOUND my Halloween decorations.  They were LOST.  But, I found those rascals and now I can orange and black this joint UP!

  2. There IS something sooo calming about the glow of those orange leaves and the 'settling' in for Winter, isn't there?

Top that off with your father being back to himself, and life is
G.O.O.D. - now for a junk fix (right??)
