Paint By Numbers

There is a lady here in town that has sales on Wednesday's every now and again.  Whenever I see her ads, I make sure I stop by.  She doesn't have a lot, but I always find something worth buying.  Oddly enough, I don't think I have ever blogged about anything I have bought there.  In the past few months I have bought over one hundred old keys including about thirty to forty old skeleton keys, thirty-forty original paper wrappings from vintage Daisy Air Rifles and about seventy vintage paint brushes.  Every time I stop, she says - Oh, you like to buy in BULK!"  The day I bought the keys, she told me that she had just sold a laundry basket heaped full of old pool balls for five bucks.  I think I cried right there and then.

Today's purchase was not in bulk.  Just two items today.

Two large Paint by Numbers.  They are very well done and framed in nice oak frames.
They are big - 16 x 20 each.
I mentioned that they were Paint By Numbers and she said she had never heard of PBN's for adults.

I like them and I appreciate them, but they are not my style and will be headed to the Flea Market soon.

I hope someone else likes them!

  1. As you might know, I'm the proud owner of quite a few PBN's and love them all. Yours are lovely. I think those frames must have come with the kit since they are also on the PBN's I have that size. My big "Last Supper" is my current favorite!

  2. I remember that one of the cypress trees (I think that's what they are) from my great-aunt and uncle's living room! They liked to think about Florida when they weren't there. Sounds like a fun place (the lady's house, I mean. Not Florida.) (Although Florida can be fun, too.)

  8. I'm giggling at your "buying in bulk". I can't thank you enough for my horse ribbon bonanza! Talk about bulk wonderfulness! All of the ribbons ironed up so beautifully. I can't thank you enough for the pink one and most especially the birthday ribbon for me. You are too kind. I will share my bounty on my actual birth date at the end of the month. Again, you made my day! Elizabeth
PS I like these adult PBN! Too funny!

  9. Oh my gosh, I just had to revisit to copy your blog address for my post this evening, and can't believe how sweet your little makeover cupboard turned out. I didn't realize how little it was until I see it on the side table. The dishes must be very little. So cute! Again thank you for my wonderful birthday ribbon. I just love it and have it hanging where I can enjoy it each day. Elizabeth
