Easter Goodies

I love my Easter decorations.  Of course, I love all my holiday decorations, but I have had a love for bunnies for years and years.  I do not collect them anymore, but I do have a weakness for vintage bunnies and chicks.  And baskets and eggs and you know - all that cute stuff.
I have been picking up vintage Easter Baskets the past few years, but have never had a place to display them.  I stood atop a ladder and made this display, but when I stepped down, it looked kind of crowded and junky.  But, here it remains.  I have a lot of baskets within baskets up there, so they display well that way.  Throw in a Rushton bunny, a Annalee bunny (Thanks Heidi!) and a Steiff bunny and you have a good mix of vintage bunnies.  Add some paper eggs, baby toys and some honeycomb and you have the best of the best.

Since I took this photo, I have added green paper grass so it all goes together better.  I love the bunnies on the second shelf and the two old ones on the top.  I usually don't buy anything new anymore, but I just can't resist those chocolate bunnies.
I love teeny things and I have an affinity for finding little cuties at sales and at the bottom of boxes.  I never really know how to arrange these little things.  I was in the garage the other day and I spotted this old spice rack that I have never used.  I brought it in and put a few things on it.  Then a few more and a few more and I just kept piling it on!
I worked around all directions and kept adding more and more.

Lots of teeny vintage goodies.

Every day or two I spin it around a bit so I can see the different things.

There's always a surprise waiting around the corner.
In case you were wondering if Hazel has an Easter dress...the answer is yes.  The little crocheted carrot pops out of her pocket, but the cat finds it a fun toy.

I noticed that I had an abundance of Japan wooden ornaments.  I have a huge dough bowl full of them.  More than I can ever, ever use.  Does that mean I will be getting rid of them?  No.  No, it does not.  :)

I will miss all my holiday things next week - it is one long dry spell until Halloween!  (With a brief Patriotic period, of course).

Happy Easter to you and to yours!

  3. Hazel is THE.BEST!
I adore the Flower Power pin you put on her, and her pink crocs too!! I think that girl needs one of those floppy white straw sunbonnets though ~ with the yellow band that goes around it, and usually a BIG tacky flower! I'm sure I had one when I was little... I must go look for it ;-)

HAPPY EASTER To you and the whole Family!!
