Every Single Time

Is there something you buy every time you see it?  I don't mean something general like DVD's or vintage linens or Elmo toys.  I mean something very specific.  Identical to the one you already own - or identical to all the other ones you already own?

I have one downfall.  One thing I buy every.single.time I see one.  Even though I already have nearly a dozen of them.

This particular fruit cake time gets me every time.  I just can't leave one behind!

I think it is the Mercury glass picks and glass ornaments that get me.
This one cost 37.5¢ at the Thrift yesterday.  I tried to resist it.

You can see how far that got me.

So, do you have a dozen identical whatzits?

  1. Now you've got me thinking ... I have been finding it hard to leave folding yardsticks behind, even though I really have no use for them. I think you can always justify tins for storage. Especially at that price.

  2. I can see why you cannot leave one of those uncollected.
Mine are pyrex apples. They are about the size of a coffee cup, bright red on one side fading to bright yellow on the other. I have more than a dozen... but only buy if they are cheap cheap cheap.

  3. I have a set of specific wall pockets that I collect. They are fairly rare, so I'm still under the limit.

  4. Old Strawberry Shortcake stuff. I am 36 years old. I only have boys. I have no idea why I can't stay away from it. Its just sitting in the attic. My mom always buys saltine cracker tins when we are out junking.

  5. You are too funny - and yes, I have done the same thing. And I have to say - that tin is gorgeous! I have seen them, but either in photos, or, if in person, too high priced for me. I WILL find one some day.
You don't mind me having just the one, do you? i will leave the rest for you! :)

  6. Awesome tin. The design on it really is eye catching. My had to have used to be old Raggedy Ann dolls, the more in need of clothes and repair the better. After a time though my house started looking more like a toy store and visiting relatives were reluctant to stay in the guest room. They felt they were being watched (win/win there right?!) So I trimmed down my collection to my favorites. It's still hard to pass them up!

  7. There are a L.O.T. of things that I 'collect' and are a 'given' that I will buy, but the unexplained are unnumerable too. As I was baking yesterday I noticed that a good for this post was vintage aluminum measuring cups and spoons. I don't know how many sets and partial sets I have. Yet I keep bringing them home. Why??
