Mother's Day 2010

Happy Mother's Day!

In honor of Mother's Day, I gathered up all my Mother related things and built a display.  As usual, I was surprised how many things I had.  *Surprise!*
I have a Mother cup and saucer listed on etsy too, but I couldn't scrounge it up for my display.
(Hope it doesn't sell since I can't seem to locate it!~)
That's my Grandmother (yes, that one) back when she was fun and happy.  The Bean made that book for me in 3rd Grade.  It has about 25 pages of stories and "Things I love about my MOM" in it.  It is one of my favorite possessions.  "My Mom is funny and pretty and makes me good food".  ;)
Hankies, MOTHER cups, a random Mother/Daughter photograph and my one and only Mother's Day Postcard.

I just found this big Mother plaque this week.  Love the crown.
Two sweet framed Mother poems, more hankies - including a MOTHER hankie which I honestly did not know I had - another Mother cup and a photo of my Great Grandmother.

Sweet print.
That hankie!  I wonder where or when I got it?

Sweet!
And, for my own Mom.

A photo of my Mom and me/  My Grandmother was a professional photographer and owned a prominent studio in Kansas.  She liked to use family members as studio displays.  Anytime we went to visit, we would have to endure four to five hour photo shoots with lots of clothing changes.  I have a billion photos of me when I was younger because of her.  Now, I rarely ever have my photo taken - because of her.  I can't stand a camera in  my face!  This photo was at the end of the day and we were both hot, tired and mad.  It's one of my favorite photos because it really shows how we felt!  Mad!  Anyway, Happy Mother's day, Mumsie.  Here's to happier days ahead.  And thanks for being MY Mumsie!

Oh yea, I'm a MOM too!  I almost forgot!  Thanks to The Bean for making it all possible.  Being your Mom is about the only thing I think I have ever done right.  Thanks for still thinking I funny and pretty and I cook good food.  (I look mean in that photo, but I he was making a noise and it concerned me.  Therefore, the worried face).

Have a wonderful Mother's Day.

(I'm off to put in a load of laundry and make lunch.
Something isn't right here....)

**For any Richardson's reading this - I don't have any photos of Frankie.  Otherwise, I would have included her in this too!)

*Thank you Uncle Bobby!  Here's my Dad's Mother Frankie.  And my Dad.  What a geek!

  1. Don't worry, you aren't along in the cooking & laundry department. I've been doing both today. But my teenager is conscripted labor!

    Happy Mother's Day!

  2. Very nice Mother's Day display!

4-5 hours of picture taking? You gotta be kidding! If it were me, I'd look alot madder than that!
