A Sunny Day

Sunday was indeed, a SUN day. The sun shone brightly in the sky and the sky was a vivid blue. With my Etsy Shop in dire need of new merchandise, I grabbed a couple of totes of items, my tiny display table, my wee little chair and my camera and headed out to the front porch to photograph my wares.

I had no idea that it was flippin' freezing until I stepped outside.  But, I already had everything gathered up, so I set up  my mini photo shoot and went to work.

I often wonder what my neighbors think of me....sitting in a child's chair in front of a small table, hanging old purses on my picket fence, happily snapping away with my camera.  I'm sure I do look odd.  But, I really don't care.  I was on a mission!

I got everything measured, photographed and my notes completed on each item.  I even got them all listed, which is  feat unto itself.  And, I already had three sales today. I suppose I will be sitting on the front porch taking photos next Sunday too.  No, wait, we have ICE, 8 inches of snow and negative temperatures coming.  On the Anniversary of the Ice Storm of 2009.  Seriously.  Maybe I will do that whole photography thing next weekend.

*Not to sound like a commercial or anything...BUT....I do have a lot of cool tings in my Etsy Shop and a portion of each sale is going to The Red Cross and Save the Children throughout the month of February (starting today).

  1. OH YEH! I've had 'Chatty Man' across the street, 'take his dog for a walk' just as an excuse to wander over in the middle of one of my photo shoots and ask 'Whatcha doin'???' 8-) Your end product was well worth the effort though!!

  5. Outside pictures are so much better! And I agree getting the pictures AND getting items listed is a feat in itself. I have so much to list but it is a time consuming process! Good Luck and I love reading your blog

  6. Love the purse! I know you are on my team when it comes to wishing spring would hurry up and get here! I'm so tired of being cold. Have a happy day!

  7. You're so brave! There's no way I could be outside taking pictures like you do. My neighbor is quite possibly the nosiest man on the planet! So, I hole up inside my house, in the room that has the most windows and I take my pictures in there. At least I can't be interrupted by Mr. Nosy whilst I'm working!!

And I thought of you when I was watching the weather channel yesterday. They were talking about the impending storm and I thought about the big ice storm you guys got hit with last winter. I hope you fair better this go 'round!
