Call Me Dear Abby

I am a board member at Yardsalequeen. The Queen, Chris, was contacted by a newspaper for an interview and it turned out that it was MY local newspaper, so the Queen referred the reporter back to me. I spoke with her on the phone. She asked for my advice on both attending and having a yard sale. The article is well written - it is concise, but gives information good information. The best part? I didn't come off like a blathering buffoon! Yeah, me!

You can read the article here: The Morning News

***I did tell a small white lie when she asked how much of my house was devoted to my yard sale finds. "Oh not much at all!" I said very fast and high pitched. "Not much at all!"

  1. Oh, lovely! You sounded smart.

Well, you didn't lie. A lot of it is from thrift stores!

  4. I love it! You sounded great and I love how she included the part about The Bean going with you. And did your nose grow ever so slightly with that last little fib about your house? ;) At least it wasn't an in-person interview--no hiding your treasures then! LOL

  6. Yep, we get to say we knew you "when"...... That was cool of Chris to send it back your way. They didn't post a pic of you, so you can still shop incognito for now.

Did you ever consider writing for a newspaper? I read a Sunday column that is a dual between a dad and teen son and their different takes on life.

  7. Great article! My son and I went to a yard sale last week and we each bought some used CD's for $2 apiece. When we got home, one CD case was missing the CD! It pays to look things over before you buy!
