Being The Bean's Mom

Bean,

Thanks for being my Bean. When you were eight months old, you took my face in your hands and pulled me to you and kissed me so hard I thought my face would explode. When you were three you asked if we could smooch and that meant that was time to lay on the bed and read a book. When you were six you asked if you could French Kiss me and then you proceeded to lean in and kiss me on the left check and then ont he right check, you know, like the FRENCH do. (Whew).

The Bean circa 2002. Only 6 1/2 years old. Damn he was cute.
Santa Bean 2002.
Easter Bean 2003.
You've told me that you love me every day since you learned to talk. And, you still do. You call me Pretty Mama, and even though I know I am not a pretty Mama, you insist that, yes I am, indeed a Pretty Mama.
Santa Bean 2003.

You used to sit on the couch and hold my hand. Now, even though you are a head taller than me, you still take my hand in the parking lot because you want to help me.

A Bean from Brazil.

Thanks for making me a Mama, Bean!
And to My Mom,
Happy Mother's Day and thanks for being MY Mom.
